Intern With State Representative Carol Ammons!


State Representative Carol Ammons is currently taking applications to join the Illinois 103rd Congressional District Office.

Ammons is an experienced fifth-term legislator, with a strong record of legislative victories. She currently sits on nine congressional boards, and has leadership roles in the Women’s Caucus and Illinois Legislative Black Caucus. Emphasizing grassroots politics, the Representative frequently attends events in the Champaign-Urbana community and across the state. Her district office staff assists in event planning, policy research, social media engagement, and constituent outreach to keep her activism going despite the demands of political life. The 103rd Congressional District Office is looking for bright young adults to help her pursue progressive political change.

The office is located in downtown Urbana, with ample parking and bus stops in the area. The expected time commitment is 10-12 hours a week. In-person attendance is expected, but flexible arrangements can be made.

Students from the University of Illinois, Parkland College, Eastern Illinois University, or any other nearby institution are welcome to apply. All majors are encouraged to apply, although there is a particular interest in these majors: Political Science, Communication, Community Health, Education, New Media, Urban Planning, Marketing, Economics, Public Policy & Law, African American Studies, Latina/Latino Studies, Journalism, and Gender & Women’s Studies.
